The choir has been at the centre of music making in Chelmsford, under a succession of inspiring conductors, for nearly eighty years. During this time we have performed major choral works with symphony orchestras and baroque bands, classical and modem works with chamber groups as well as madrigals and part-songs a capella or with organ or piano. Of the soloists who have sung with us, many, if not already renowned, have gone on to become so.

"The Singers, under the inspirational direction of Peter Nardone, were on exceptionally good form throughout, producing a powerful, expressive sound, in the majestic ending of the Gloria, for example.....One of the best concerts I've heard this year, and a much appreciated Christmas gift from the Chelmsford Singers."
